Home The Menu Selections Tricks A Lil' Something for Halloween

Hello kiddies

welcome back to story time
Did you have a good nap?
I do hope so
for you will not want these ramblings to find a home and gestate in the lower layers of your subconscious...the land of true monsters
for it is there...nestled under your lovely hair
the ability to be truly evil
or truly generous

It is within us all to be both of the polar extremities of behavior
and what determines that?
Choice? No; but don't beat yourself up for getting it wrong...'tis a common misconception
Are people the way they are because they were raised that way or because they WERE that way
Who is to say...

that has nothing to do with today’s story children...a lil' something for All Hallow's Eve...
Once upon a time there was such a good group of little girls and boys, not unlike all of you, and they
decided it would be great fun to have a party on the Devil's Night (certainly not how they thought of it
of course, they were after all, like you, Americans and wired into the digital maelstrom that distracts us
daily...they didn't know that things have power...words...actions...even dates...)
Where was I...oh yes...there was going to be a party... and what party on the unholiest of days would
be complete without garish and revealing outfits, party games, and all sorts of chemicals in various forms
to distract the distracted youth even more...

Just imagine...you, yourself getting ready for the party. Checking and rechecking your costume in the
mirror. Perhaps you wear something clever, or perhaps you hardly have a costume at all, and only a
mere wisp of a suggestion of fabric protects you from the cold night...

You realize that you are running late...and hop in your vehicular mode of transportation and speed your
way to the party on the unholiest of days
Perhaps you listen to music...
maybe you drive in silence
Do you stop at the store to pick up cigarettes or chips or more alcohol?
I bet you do
naughty children
I am sure you arrive at the house or mobile home or wherever it is you little children live these days
and maybe you see a great number of vehicles there
and you hear the music thud into the street.....
but oddly

you don't hear anyone talking
Perhaps you blow it off
you did arrive fashionably late after all
Perhaps the party has moved into the quiet fun stage of groping fingers and the beginning of drama that
will erupt when the joy of the alcohol begins to subside
Maybe you grin and pick up your pace and arrive to the front door

but oh no

the door is cracked and you behold a sight that stops your steps and sends shivers down your spine
an arm... lying on the floor
and is that?
It looks like blood doesn't it?
Maybe you shrug it off and leave it to a Halloween prank and you saunter into the house ready to
surprise the ones who are assuredly hiding behind couches and waiting for some soul to enter and
yell. "Supriiise!!"
But no
you enter and stop
and you see me
the king of carnage that is this little house...
I will spare you the horrid details of what I did
I am sure you can imagine what I could do with a score or more of your friends and a knife...and a little
imagination
So there you are...seeing me in my top hat and sunglasses and my blood red velvet vest...cleaning my
teeth with what you pray is a toothpick
but know that it is not
I see you and perhaps I'll tip my hat to you and go on my merry
Perhaps
but more likely I will tilt my head to the side, grin at you with my white teeth...and welcome you to my
party

That was a sweet story wasn't it children?
Don’t worry...there are millions more just like
good night children
and oh yes

Sweet dreams
